I have been a fully qualified TESOL (Teacher of English as a Second language to Overseas Learners) Instructor since January 2000. I spent 3 years in Japan teaching students of all ages and all levels. I have also taught in various places around the UK since returning home.

As an English speaker living in Japan, I came to realise how difficult it can be to move to a country where you do not speak the native language. I fully understand the difficulties posed by learning a new language without help from an Instructor. I also discovered that fitting in was more than just learning the language, it was also about learning the culture and understanding the hearts and minds of the people. Having grown up in Northern Ireland, I will be able to help you achieve the same feeling of "home" that I experienced in Japan.

I aim to be a bridge for all newcomers to Lisburn to help them learn the language as fast as possible and fit into the local society.

I am now settled in Lisburn with my husband and 14 month old baby girl, Emily. I can teach you in my own home or out and about in Lisburn. Please contact me to discuss what would work best for you.
